Channels & Integrations: The Nervous System

A complete masterclass on connecting Discord and Telegram today, and how the Sovereign architecture is built to absorb WhatsApp, Slack, and Matrix in the future.

The Concept of "Territories"

In the digital age, your community doesn't live in one house. It lives in an archipelago of islands.

  • Discord: Your town hall.
  • Telegram: Your lobby and VIP rooms.
  • Twitter/X: Your public square.

Sovereign is the bridge that connects these islands. Without it, you have fragmented data, split identities, and chaos. With it, you have a Unified Nation.

1. Connecting Discord (The Town Hall)

Discord is powerful but noisy. Sovereign turns it into a structured data mine.

Step-by-Step Integration

  1. Navigate: Go to Dashboard > Integrations.
  2. Authorize: Click "Connect Discord". You must have "Manage Server" permissions on your target server.
  3. The Bot User: Sovereign will join your server.
    • Crucial Step: Move the Sovereign role to the TOP of your role list in Server Settings. This allows the bot to manage roles below it (like VIP, Member, New).
  4. Permissions Check: The bot needs:
    • Manage Roles (To sync tiers)
    • Manage Channels (To create ticket channels)
    • Ban Members (For cross-platform bans)

Why do this?

  • Identity Sync: We map Discord IDs 3948... to your Member Database.
  • Activity Tracking: Every message counts towards XP and engagement scores.

2. Connecting Telegram (The Lobby)

Telegram is fast and chaotic. Sovereign brings order.

Step-by-Step Integration

  1. Find the Bot: Open Telegram and search for @UseSovereignBot (or your whitelabel bot).
  2. Add to Group: Add the bot to your group chat.
  3. Promote to Admin:
    • Click Group Settings > Administrators > Add Admin.
    • Select the bot.
    • Grant All Permissions. (Especially "Delete Messages" and "Invite Users").

[!WARNING] Privacy Settings: If the bot is NOT an admin, it cannot see messages in groups with >50 members due to Telegram's privacy mode. It must be an Admin to function as your AI moderator.

The "Link" Command

Once both are connected, how do we know UserA on Discord is UserB on Telegram?

  • The user types /link in Telegram.
  • They get a secure URL.
  • They sign in with Discord.
  • BOOM. Merged.

3. Future-Proofing: Architecture for What's Next

You asked: "How do we link future channels?"

Sovereign is built on a Provider-Agnostic Adapter Pattern. This means our core system doesn't know the difference between a Discord Message and a WhatsApp Message. It just sees a UnifiedMessage.

Coming Q3 2026: The Expansion Pack

We are currently building adapters for:

  1. WhatsApp Communities: For high-touch, mobile-first groups.
  2. Slack: For B2B communities and corporate clients.
  3. Matrix/Element: For decentralized, privacy-first territories.

How it will work: You won't need to migrate data. You will simply click "Add Channel", select "WhatsApp", scan a QR code, and suddenly your WhatsApp members are part of the same database as your Discord gamers. One dashboard. All protocols.

4. Troubleshooting Strategy

"The Bot isn't responding!"

  1. Check Scope: Is the bot in the channel? (Discord requires explicit permission for private channels).
  2. Check Role: Is the bot's role higher than the user it's trying to moderate?
  3. Check Credits: Did you run out of AI credits? Check Billing.

"Magic Invites aren't tracking"

  1. The user MUST use the specific link generated by /invite.
  2. If they use the generic Standard Discord Invite, we cannot trace the referrer.
  3. Education: Teach your members: "Want credit? Use /invite."
